Curt Chaffin
Curt Chaffin is a Senior Government Relations Representative on the government relations team, primarily focusing on the National Wildlife Refuge System, climate change, wildlife corridors and habitat connectivity. Curt advocates for stronger laws to protect vulnerable species and important public lands.
Prior to joining Defenders of Wildlife, Curt was the Policy Director for the Alabama Rivers Alliance where he lead legislative and regulatory efforts to protect the state’s water resources, including imperiled wildlife and healthy stream flows.
Curt holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. While in school, he served as a board member of the Environmental Law Society, an editor of his law journal, and a summer clerk with the Southern Environmental Law Center. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Emory University.
