Areas of Expertise: Federal and state legislation and policy, legislative drafting, budget and appropriations
Chris’s current areas of focus include advocacy on wildlife issues relating to national forests, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). His responsibilities also involve advising on lobbying, electioneering, and ethics compliance, along with legal analysis and reviews relating to wildlife issues of congressional legislation.
Prior to his employment at Defenders, Chris provided legal counsel and drafted legislation in the Massachusetts State House, focusing on budget, environmental, energy, and housing issues. He has also provided direct legal services to indigent clients and advocated for racial justice policies with Greater Boston Legal Services.
Chris holds a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, Chris served as a law clerk for Senator Richard Durbin’s Judiciary Office, a member of Georgetown Law’s Federal Legislation Clinic, and a Senior Editor for the Georgetown Environmental Law Review.
