Monique provides administrative support to the Conservation Law team. Before joining Defenders, Monique was a Policy Intern at Miami Waterkeeper, an environmental non-profit focused on water quality, habitat protection and climate change resilience in South Florida. While there Monique worked on drafting a fertilizer ordinance to regulate fertilizer use in Miami-Dade County in an effort to reduce nutrient pollution in Biscayne Bay. Monique also participated in research, public outreach events and gave public comments to elected officials. In her free time, she can often be found curled up somewhere with a good book.
Monique received her Master’s degree in Marine Conservation from the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School for Marine and Atmospheric Science and her B.A. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Psychology from New York University.
