Lisa works as part of the Conservation Law team to advocate for the protection and restoration of imperiled species and the lands and waters on which they depend.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Lisa is a former law clerk for Chief Judge Karen Williams on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She previously worked as an Associate Attorney for the Southern Environmental Law Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Lisa came to Defenders from private practice, where she gained experience in a range of complex litigation, including work on behalf of those injured by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, cases arising out of military burn pits, and litigation assisting state and local governments seeking to address the opioid crisis in their communities.
She holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A in Spanish from U.C. Berkeley. Admitted to practice in Colorado since 2006, she is excited to have returned to the West.
