Charlotte joined Defenders as a Legal Fellow after earning her J.D. from Tulane Law School, graduating cum laude with a certificate in Environmental Law. She was the 2024 recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association Pro Bono Award and the Haber Joseph McCarthy Environmental Law Award.
Charlotte’s environmental litigation experience began as a student attorney with the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, presenting oral argument on behalf of clients challenging industrial expansion in fence-line communities disproportionately affected by toxic air pollution. Charlotte also interned with the Louisiana Attorney General’s office in the Natural Resources section and the Environment & Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. While at Tulane, Charlotte was the Editor-in-Chief of the Environmental Law Journal and worked as a legal assistant with the Tulane Institute on Water Resources Law & Policy. Before law school, Charlotte earned her B.S. in Psychology from Lafayette College and an M.S. in Childhood Education from Touro University.
