Defenders of Wildlife, in partnership with Lionsgate Home Entertainment, is offering limited edition “Adopt a Wolf” adoption packages featuring Lionsgate’s delightful animated tale about wolves, Alpha and Omega.
“Wolves are an incredibly important part of wild places like the Rocky Mountains, yet they’re so often misunderstood. Alpha and Omega is an adorable film that teaches kids the basics about wolves with a fun and heart-warming story,” said Suzanne Stone, Northern Rockies representative for Defenders of Wildlife. “We’re delighted to be partnering with Lionsgate to promote the protection of wild wolves through this exclusive wolf adoption kit.”
The Alpha and Omega Wolf Adoption Kits, available for a donation of $60, include a soft, cuddly wolf plush toy, informative factsheet, full-color photo, personalized certificate, and the feature film Alpha and Omega on DVD. The kits will be available for a limited time, starting on January 11, 2011, at defenders.org/AlphaAndOmega.
Defenders is also offering a $10 discount off the already special price to those who sign up in advance to be notified when the kit is available to order, and receive a special discount code.
All proceeds from these limited edition adoption kits will go towards supporting Defenders’ work to save wolves and other wildlife in their wild homes.
Wolves are intelligent, social animals and their presence is vital to the biodiversity of our wild places. As champions of wolves, Defenders of Wildlife is pleased to partner with Lionsgate to promote Alpha and Omega’s positive messages about wolves. Alpha and Omega will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, VOD and Digital Download on January 11th. Both the DVD and Blu-ray include bonus features the whole family will enjoy, including featurettes, animal trivia, a deleted scene and a Log Sliding interactive game.
Of special note is the featurette titled Wolves in the Wild, in which the filmmakers discuss how their perceptions changed as they learned more about the complex behaviors and social bonds of these magnificent animals. A shorter version of this featurette can be viewed at defenders.org/AlphaAndOmega.
