We’re really excited to kick off Stockton’s first Steelhead Festival this Sunday, May 1 in California’s Central Valley.

The region’s top fly-fisherman will be giving free casting lessons. There will be delicious slow-food cooking demonstrations from local chefs. Artisans from around the region will be selling fine arts. Children and families can enjoy arts and crafts lessons, music and more!

If you live near the Central Valley, join Friends of the Lower Calaveras River and Defenders in celebrating the importance of the Calaveras River and the imperiled steelhead trout.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience the region’s rich cultural heritage and learn more about its wildlife and environment.
